Shiva information

This post will be up for a limited amount of time.

My husband is sitting Shiva for his father in Hillcrest -Queens - NY.
He will be returning to Milwaukee Tuesday evening and will sit here until Thursday morning.

If you can make it over there, you can get the address via Fudge's info on his blog.

If you want to call, send me an e-mail and I will mail you back his phone number. Or you can call his parent's number (land line), which I believe is listed, again under his father's name.

Thank you again for all the concern and well wishes.

The Origins of Mrs. Balabusta

Somebody on another blog wanted the origins of our blog names, which got me thinking, what better way to renew and re-initiate than with an inspection of the beginning.

Mrs. Balabusta is a song, my kids know too well, on the Seder Parader record that I have from my privileged but yet tormented childhood. I have become what I have beheld and I am content that I have done right - (extra credit - what movie is that from)?

Here are the words as best I can remember them. Tuesday can help out, but I have the actual record, so I think I will get more of it right.

Oh my name is Mrs. Balabusta - I'm so very busy.
Peseach may be fun for you, - But it just makes me dizzy.
There's a lot of things - A Balabusta has to do
Oh what lies before us
Sing along the chorus
Sing along the chorus
and you'll soon be busy too.

Oh there's cleaning, cooking, baking, shopping, polishing and waxing,
Dusting, mopping, no relaxing
There's no time for stopping
Finally the house is clean,

And yet there's more to do
Here come all the dishes
Pots and pans to rearrange.

Now I hope my Balabusta song won't make you think I'm lazy
But around this time each year, I think I'm going crazy
Just when I am done and every broom is out of sight
Oh I cannot stop now.
No I have to shop now.
No I have to shop now.
And cook for seder night.

And then the Cheerful Gladys Gewirtz comes and and says
"Mrs. Balabusta have no fear -
Your cheerful Seder Paraders are here
They'll help you with your cleaning
and they'll help you with your mopping -
They are even prepared to do your shopping!"

That's when my kids run in terror.
